How Our Adoption Process Works

  1. You will need to fill out our online adoption application which can be found at the bottom of this page

  2. Once you have completed and submitted the application, please be patient, and you will be contacted by one of our volunteers. They will discuss the adoption process with you and go over your application.

  3. We will then contact your personal and vet references.

  4. Once you are approved, a volunteer will contact you to discuss the dogs available for adoption and find candidates appropriate for your situation.

  5. We then schedule an adoption to bring the dog to your home for you to meet and answer any questions you may have.

  6. We ask that all members of the household be home on the day of the adoption, including pets.

  7. If any dogs will be frequent visitors to your home we ask that they try to be there as well.

  8. We will check to make sure that the home is safe and point out potential problem areas that you might not be aware of, and will ask you to fix any issues before we will leave a dog with you. Northern breed dogs are escape artists, and very curious, and we don't want them getting into something that can harm them, or getting out and running loose on the street.

Please note: we work in eastern PA, southern NJ, and parts of MD and DE depending on distance from the foster home. We cannot adopt to people outside of that area.
