Ulysses Update

Have you always wanted a Husky but heard how much work they can be?
Meet Ulysses, he's not your typical husky!
This 5 year young pup loves sleeping all day long, curled up by your feet!
That's not to say he won't go for a nice walk or two though, because he loves walks too.
Ulysses has a condition called EPI, which means his body has trouble absorbing nutrients.
But don't worry, we got him healthy and back up to normal weight - he will just need an enzyme powder sprinkled on his meals before eating - it's that easy smile emoticon
He has some separation anxiety as well, but continues to show improvement each and every day - with a little more training and patience, we think that will go away too.
He does well with other dogs, but doesn't like to play TOO much.
He loves car rides, belly rubs, kisses, 'giving paw', sleeping, and just being a great dog.
A good household for Ulysses would be one where someone is home most of the time, and can give him plenty of rubs and kisses.
Being an 'older' dog with health issues can make it tough for such a great dog like Ulysses to get adopted, but we know there's someone out there that will give this great dog the perfect life he deserves.

Akira - Diagnosis

AKIRA has a great prognosis! She will be fitted soon for a prosthetic legShe's happily scooting along but we're seeking to upgrade her quality of life. We are fundraising to cover her prosthetic leg, made by the great Dr.Derek at Animal Ortho Care. A prosthetic leg is a great alternative to amputation. This will also help prolong Akira's life! Thank you for your support!
Here is a video of her as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UbZTFdVZpp8

Special Needs Puppy

We just received an 8 week old special needs Alaskan Malamute puppy. She was from a puppy mill and has a deformed/injured back paw. She came to the rescue late last night and is seeing the vet today. She is being fostered in Lehigh Valley, PA. We will keep everyone posted on how she is doing, and whether she will be receiving a prosthetic paw! She is not ready to be adopted yet, but if you are interested in her, please fill out an application. Keep in mind, she is special needs and will require additional veterinary care throughout her life!

If you would like to donate to help with her care, please see our PayPal button on our home page! You can also help as you shop on Amazon by selecting Harnessed to Hope as your charity of choice!!

Ulysses Health Update 3.8.2016

Hi Everyone!

Some good news from Ulysses's one month checkup at the vet this morning!

His weight is up almost 4 pounds - just shy of 50 pounds now.

Since everything is going great, and his health and weight are doing much better, the vet recommended that we start slowing taking him off his steroids.

Once off the steroids, assuming everything is still going in the right direction, we will begin removing other parts of his medication.

Even if you aren't able to adopt Ulysses, please do us a favor and 'share' this post so that he can be seen by as many people as possible and let's get this lovable pup into his furever home! He is being fostered in the Lancaster, PA area!

Thanks everyone!
