Foster Dog Update - 2/23/2016

We are so grateful to all the foster homes who have stepped up to help these huskies in need!! We have MANY fosters right now who are looking for their forever homes!!

Ulysses-- Ulysses is a 5 year old male Siberian Husky who was an owner surrender. This guy has Separation Anxiety and would do well in home with a family who either works from home or is retired. He has had some medical issues and is undergoing treatment for stomach issues. The prognosis is hopeful, but he will likely need to remain on low cost medication. Ulysses is a bit of a loner and would do fine in a home by himself. He enjoys toys and treats and daily walks! Ulysses is looking for a new home now-- please apply if you think he would be a good match for your family!!

Falcon-- Falcon is a 6 year old male Siberian Husky. He was an owner surrender. He is also undergoing medical care to treat his esophagus issues. He is currently in the diagnostic phase and we will post more when we get the results back from his tests. Falcon hates being crated, and his foster home is working with a trainer on this issue, since he is not yet trustworthy loose in the house. Falcon does very well at dog parks and will start going to doggie day care soon. Falcon had a medium energy level - as long as he gets two walks a day during the week, he is fine with that and is not hyper. He would do well with an active family. He is dog friendly and would do well in a home who can keep up with his energy level. Falcon is not yet ready to be adopted due to his medical issues.

Hawkeye-- Hawkeye is a stray who found his way to our rescue January 29, 2016. After efforts to locate his family were unsuccessful, we took him into the rescue as a foster. We estimate he is between 1-2 years old. He is possible a Siberian Husky-Akita mix. He is a very energetic guy who LOVES walks and runs. He would do well in an active home. We recommend Hawkeye go to a home with older children. He is dog friendly and plays well with the other huskies in his home. He is crate trained. He is UTD on shots, microchipped, and will be neutered by our friends at No Nonsense Neutering in a few weeks. He is currently 60lbs but a healthy weight for Hawkeye is about 70-75lbs. Hawkeye will be ready for adoption by the second week in March!

Kato-- Kato is a 5 year old neutered male who was saved hours before his schedule euthanasia. He was surrendered to a shelter because the family didn't have room for him. He arrived at his foster home 2/22/2016 (yesterday). We are thankful to the staff at ACCT Philly who helped transport him to his Maryland foster home. Kato will need some time to settle into his foster home and work on some basic training. He will hopefully be ready for adoption in April 2016!
